Metallic Series – Seat: How to replace the guide wheels

Replacing the seat guide wheels on your Metallic Series rower is a straightforward task to perform.

The process below is applicable to all Metallic Series rower models.

Step 1

Place handle into the most forward position near the large pulley in the Forward Riser.

Step 2

Stand the WaterRower upright and disconnect the bungee from the recoil belt as shown. Lay the rower back down when finished.

Step 3

Using the 5mm ratchet included with your rower, remove the fasteners from the rear end pad and set them aside.

Step 4

Slide the seat off the rails and flip the seat over so you can access the guide wheels located on the bottom of the seat.

Step 5

Using the 5mm ratchet, remove the bolt in the center of each guide wheel to loosen and remove the wheels.

Step 6

Attach the new guide wheels in the order shown (from the top, place the bolt through the wheel then the washer and spacer).

Use Loctite to secure the bolts. Tighten the wheels onto the bottom of the seat with the 5mm ratchet.

Do NOT overtighten bolts.

Step 7

Slide the seat back onto the rails, making sure the indented portion of the seat is oriented towards the rear of the rower.

Step 8

Reinstall the rear end pad. Secure it in place with the 4 retaining bolts using the 5mm ratchet.

Step 9

Stand the rower up and reattach the bungee, then lay the rower flat again.
