Replacement of the monitor wire of your Original Series rower’s S4 Monitor or S4 Bluetooth Monitor is a relatively simple task to perform. Follow the steps below:

Step 1
Position the handle forward to the front Forward Riser pulley

Step 2
Carefully remove the Top Deck by removing the Top Deck JCBs and upper Tie Rods. Gently lift the Top Deck up being careful not to dislodge any of the guide pulleys. Unclip the sensor connector from the monitor wire assembly.

Step 3
Remove the footboard handle rests, and loosen the rail and footboard JCNs and JCBs so the footboard can be moved away from the tank unit.
Step 4
Using the 5mm Allen key, remove the left key bracket (as viewed when sitting on the rower). Set the key bracket and its attaching hardware aside.

Step 5
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the S4 Monitor batteries and battery cover.

Step 6
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the 4 small screws and S4 Monitor board from the backplate housing.

Step 7
Un-plug the wire assembly from the back of the monitor board. Pull the faulty wire assembly through the spigot tube to remove it and discard the faulty wire assembly.

Step 8
Feed the replacement wire assembly through the spigot tube and clip into the S4 Monitor board. The smaller white connector end of the wire assembly fits into the S4 Monitor board.

Step 9
Reinstall the S4 Monitor board in its housing and reinstall the 4 small screws.

Step 10
Reinstall the batteries and battery cover.
Step 11
Reinstall the left key bracket.

Step 12
Reinstall the footboard and handle rests, keep handle rests loose.
Step 13
Plug wire assembly connector into the sensor connector and replace the top deck. Replace the upper Tie Rods and Top Deck JCBs.
Step 14
Tighten the handle rest bolts. Do not overtighten as damage to the key brackets may occur.

Step 15
Reposition the handle onto the handle rests — your rower is ready to use!
