Hybrid Series – Tank: How to replace the entire tank assembly

Replacement of your Hybrid Series rower’s entire tank assembly is fairly straightforward and the process is identical for any Hybrid Series rower. Follow the steps below.

Step 1

Remove the Handle from the handle rests and place the handle in the full forward position

Step 2

Stand the WaterRower upright and disconnect the bungee from the recoil belt as shown

Step 3

Lay the WaterRower down and slowly pull the handle so that the drive strap unwinds from the clutch housing. Do this gently as pulling too fast will cause the recoil belt to wind up too much.

Step 4

Remove the handle rest bolts and handle rests as shown.

Remove the footboard center bolt.

Step 6

Remove the bolts on the underside of the footboard securing the footboard to the center bracket.

Step 7

Disconnect the sensor cable from the monitor cable and remove the footboard from the rower.

Step 8

Remove the connecting nuts and bolts joining the forward riser bottom bracket to the rails.

Step 9

Remove the old tank assembly.

Step 10

Replace the new tank assembly.

Replace the connecting nuts and bolts joining the forward riser bottom bracket to the rails.

Re-connect the sensor cable from the monitor cable and place the footboard on the rower.

Install the 4 bolts on the underside of the footboard securing the footboard to the center bracket.

Step 13

Replace the footboard center bolt.

Replace the handle rest bolts and handle rests. Keep bolts loose until all components are assembled and aligned

Replace the footboard center bolt.

Step 16

Stand the WaterRower upright and reconnect the bungee to the recoil belt as shown
