Replacement of the monitor wire of your Metallic Series rower’s S4 Monitor or S4 Bluetooth Monitor is a relatively simple task to perform. Follow the steps below:

Step 1
Place handle into the most forward position near the large pulley in the Forward Riser.

Step 2
Using the 5mm ratchet included with your rower, remove the handle rests and handle rest bolts. Set them aside.

Step 3
Rotate the footboard away from the tank assembly toward the rear of the rower.

Step 4
Remove the tank cover by sliding it simultaneously upward and toward the rear of the rower.
Step 5
Using a 5mm Allen key, remove the left key bracket (as viewed when sitting on the rower). Set the key bracket and its attaching hardware aside.

Step 6
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the S4 Monitor batteries and battery cover.

Step 7
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the 4 small screws and S4 Monitor board from the backplate housing.

Step 8
Un-plug the wire assembly from the back of the monitor board. Pull the faulty wire assembly through the spigot tube to remove it and discard the faulty wire assembly.

Step 9
Feed the replacement wire assembly through the spigot tube and clip into the S4 Monitor board. The smaller white connector end of the wire assembly fits into the S4 Monitor board.

Step 10
Reinstall the S4 Monitor board in its housing and reinstall the 4 small screws.

Step 11
Reinstall the batteries and battery cover.
Step 12
Reinstall the left key bracket.

Step 13
Reinstall the tank cover by sliding it simultaneously downward and toward the front of the rower. If your rower is equipped with black plastic shims to secure the front end of the top cover, ensure the cover is fully seated in them.

Step 14
Rotate the footboard forward towards the tank and align the handle rest holes with the nuts embedded in the black angled brackets of the tank assembly.

Step 15
Using the 5mm ratchet, reinstall the handle rests and their bolts.
Do not overtighten these bolts as damage to the black angled brackets may occur.
Note: Do NOT use a drill or impact driver when when installing these bolts.
